On January 26, 2024, Dr. Zhu Rundong, Director of the Shishi Huada Institute for Digital Economy, along with Vice Director Cao Yansong and their staff, paid a visit to the alumni‑run enterprise Weitai (China) Industrial Co., Ltd. The visit was hosted by alumnus Hong Jiajing, who also engaged in an in-depth exchange.

　　On January 26, 2024, Dr. Zhu Rundong, Director of the Shishi Huada Institute for Digital Economy, along with Vice Director Cao Yansong and their staff, paid a visit to the alumni‑run enterprise Weitai (China) Industrial Co., Ltd. The visit was hosted by alumnus Hong Jiajing, who engaged in an in-depth exchange with the delegation.

　　During the discussion, General Manager Hong explained that the company currently focuses on the R&D and production of knitted fabric greige and fabrics for fitness and yoga apparel, with trade as its primary business. The fabrics it produces still require further processing and dyeing. The company has also established a complementary industrial chain, including a knitting and dyeing facility, a fabric trading operation, and a textile processing plant. In recent years, the company has been committed to digital transformation, introducing a wide array of advanced automated equipment and achieving notable results.

　　Vice President Cao Yansong stated that the Shishi HuaDa Institute for Digital Economy leverages the resources of Huaqiao University, and as an alumnus of the university, General Manager Hong can draw on Huaqiao University’s R&D capabilities to empower his own enterprise and bolster its innovation efforts. At present, the digital economy is experiencing rapid growth, and the state has introduced a series of policies to support businesses in their digital transformation and upgrading. Meanwhile, General Manager Hong’s company has already achieved a certain scale in digitalization, enabling it to deepen collaboration with the institute and lay the groundwork for future data‑asset development and the inclusion of data assets on corporate balance sheets. Furthermore, Huaqiao University boasts a large alumni network in Shishi; General Manager Hong can also capitalize on the “Alumni Home” platform and the institute to strengthen ties with fellow alumni and foster the joint development of alumni‑run enterprises.

　　President Hong expressed his agreement with Vice President Cao Yansong’s vision. He stated that he would strengthen exchanges with the Shishi Huada Institute of Digital Economy and its alumni, jointly explore future development directions, and better address the challenges and seize the opportunities presented by the digital economy era.

　　Weitai (China) Industrial Co., Ltd. was established in 2006 and is dedicated to the research, development, and production of high‑end knitted synthetic fabrics. The company operates its own weaving and dyeing facilities, specializing in the manufacturing and processing of sportswear and leisure fabrics as well as fitness and yoga textiles. Both the weaving and dyeing plants are equipped with state‑of‑the‑art international machinery and managed by a team of seasoned professionals, boasting an annual production capacity exceeding 10,000 tons. Weitai’s woven products can be customized to meet market demands and are widely applicable, commanding a strong market share across diverse sectors including apparel, home décor, furniture, and leather goods.
